What is TPR/Rubber/Silicone Logo Patches?
In terms of physical properties, they are all pieces with similar properties to rubber such as flexibility, good elasticity, and the ability to make colorful logos. Because of the properties not at all materials have, TPR/Rubber/Silicone is popular and often makes important details – brand logos on shirts, shoes, hats, bags…
However, going deep into these logos, they have different characteristics, advantages and disadvantages that many customers need to consider before placing an order.
The TPR logo is Thermoplastic which makes them highly heat resistant up to 120oC, or down to -50oC, bearing the characteristics of vulcanized rubber. TPR is made of eco-PVC, so it can create logos patch with extremely diverse colors, up to 10 colors on 1 piece of logo. However, to create too much color, the colors need to be completely liquefied before production, resulting in a quite soft product, but the small details on the logo are treated by TPR . Regarding the soft problem, TPR can be easily solved by adding more backers on the backside of the product, and the low cost and low mold cost also make TPR more competitive price in the market.
The silicone logo is similar with high strength, extreme heat resistance and all-weather hardness. They can also be produced in many colors and are popular in most countries because of their safety for human health and children. However, the ability to withstand the weather makes silicone last for thousands to tens of thousands of years even though it has been buried deep underground. Therefore, depending on the country, silicone is selected based on health safety or environmental friendliness.
Rubber logos are usually harder and more durable than TPR or Silicone because they can’t be liquefied, but that’s why rubber’s weakness is that it can’t make details that are too small or colorful. Its inability to liquefy and its tendency to harden and crumble in cold weather makes rubber not a good solution for winter products. However, using rubber material for fashionable shoe soles will greatly increase abrasion resistance. Shoes used in summer weather also increase the durability of the rubber. The drawback of rubber logos is that they usually only make 2-3 colors.
